1. woo, first dw post! still figuring out how stuff works and finding people. i don't seem to have any invites yet, but i will share when i do. same name both places, bw.

1. i gave in and got a twitter!* go add me so that 50% of my followers don't consist of jepha! okay, i won't mind if you don't. the thing is, i rewrite everything, even one sentence comments like five times so i don't sound like a moron. and i can't really do that with twitter. so it's pretty much long periods of silence punctuated by unfiltered stupid.
ETA: but if you do want to, and your name is different from your username, let me know who you are! unless you're trying to maintain an aura of mystery i can respect that.

2. I HOPE YOU ARE ALL FINISHING YOUR BIG BANGS. EARLY. SO I CAN PICK SOMETHING TOTALLY AWESOME AND AMAZING TO ILLUSTRATE. really though, i'm super excited. i haven't been drawing much lately, but i really, really like illustrating. definitely more than just doing stuff on my own.

3. are people who are not me interested in letterpress? maybe? here's a neat video that shows the process. it's pretty much what i do in class, only i set my type backwards a lot more often and don't have a sweet beard. and, you know, i'm not that good.

4. recent dreams i have had involving kittens:

a. i bravely struggle through a snowstorm to get medication for a sick kitten. i rule!

b. i am drafted for the military. i spend half the dream lecturing about the religious society of friends' status as an historic peace church. the other half i spend scheming up ways to tape pictures of kittens to my uniform. so pretty much what would actually happen. plus, how lame is it to have a dream that is 100% about you talking? to everyone i have ever talked to, sorry i'm so boring.

5. i really like the new conor oberst album! i think my favorite songs are air mattress and snake hill. incidentally, the last album has a lyric that goes "she's turning over on a mattress made on air". dude sure likes air mattresses.

2.  going home for easter.  looking forward to seeing my cat family. not looking forward to spending ten fucking hours on the train.

4.  anyway. new york. come on. i'm happy for iowa and vermont, but this is getting embarrassing here. on the other hand, i brought my mom's w-2s into student services today, and they sure as fuck didn't ask for her girlfriend's.  ha!

5.  oh man, i am so excited for the new avett brothers' album! check out their sxsw set. if i knew how to rip and extract that sing along, i would make it my ringtone. and that new song at the end. give it to me, internet!

aw, look who joined the twitter bandwagon! they don't seem to have gotten the hang of signing their twits, but this (and the japanese stuff) makes me think jeph is doing all the updating? which would mean that jeph took this picture. boyfriennnnnds :D

that or dan is framing jeph for his bad grammar and trolling us all. either explanation makes me coo.

speaking of cooing! whenever i see a fat pigeon, i get this really strong urge to squeeze it. it just seems like it'd be really satisfying? if the little fuckers weren't so fast, i'd have probably done it by now.

1.  shameful realization: i will probably associate the word playboy with yohji kudou (whose name i did not even have to look up) for the rest of my life.

2.  i finally noticed that brett dennen had a new album out. ahhh, my need for overly earnest folk music is sated. plus it contains possibly the least romantic similes ever committed to mp3 (naked clowns? really dude?)

3.  alison bechdel is kind of batshit. there's something  comforting about knowing awesome doesn't come easy.

4.  this was interesting.  doesn't mean i'm not still waiting for more cat videos though.

5.  puppies.

6.  i read all the entries on my flist, and i open comment boxes, and then i get too anxious to actually say anything. um, sorry about that.

1. my fandom masochism continues unabated. i keep having thoughts like, "man, i'd really love to read some nice, long chiz/butch walker right now!" or, "today seems like an excellent day for some travis/matt!"

2. today, bob is my favorite.

3. started season two of bones. i like cam! it's nice to have another female character too.

4. i saw hot fuzz for the first time today. very funny. the swan was my favorite character, hands down.

5. so i thought josh ritter was josh groban for a while. i don't know, it seemed reasonable. anyway, i'm glad to inform everybody that he's not. here is a song: The Temptation of Adam.
